What you need
Check this first. Reel Studio does not run on a Mac or a phone yet.
- Computer
- A Windows 10 or 11 PC, 64-bit. 8 GB of memory works, 16 GB is better.
- Claude Code
- Installed, on a paid Claude plan. Editing a reel uses it like any Claude Code session.
- Disk and internet
- Setup downloads about 3 GB of free tools. Keep about 30 GB free for reels in progress.
- Graphics card
- Optional. An NVIDIA card with 6 GB unlocks no-camera reels and the person cut-out. Everything else runs without one.
- Jev key
- Optional. Your own Vercel AI Gateway or OpenRouter key. Without it the Jev passes are skipped and reels still render.
- Your time
- 15 to 25 minutes once. Claude checks your PC, asks before installing anything, and renders a sample reel at the end.

Yes. $0 gets the same download and the same install email as $20. No trial, no locked features, and no follow-up asking you to pay.
What is the email for?
The download link goes there, so you can open it on your PC, and so does the receipt if you pay. You only get updates if you tick the box. We never sell or share it.
What does "Powered by Jev" mean?
Jev is TypeSafe's decision model. Reel Studio asks it typed questions about each line you said, like "is this filler" or "is this the key point", and cuts on the answers. Jev never writes words.
What does Jev cost?
Very little. On one of Jason's reels, 213 questions about 25 lines cost $0.000688, billed to your own Vercel AI Gateway or OpenRouter key. The key is optional.
Can I get a refund?
