Talk into the camera. Claude Code edits the reel.
Record yourself talking. Claude Code or Codex cuts the take in the silences, captions every word and hands back a Reel ready to post. The free edition does the whole edit, on your own Windows PC.
Needs a Windows 10 or 11 PC and Claude Code or Codex. Free asks only for your email, and the link waits in your inbox for your PC. Pro is $29 once.
- One take over my screen, cut to a finished reel
- 82 s to 56 s
- Words captioned in a 43.8-second reel
- 155 of 155
- In an 85-second reel cut from a 143-second take
- 40 shots
- What my robot co-host cost to make on Higgsfield, at launch prices
- $2.76
All four are from my own work. I'm Jason, and I built Reel Studio to edit my reels. Your takes will give different numbers.
Pro: a robot co-host
A robot that talks back.
I record on a black background while a prompter shows my lines and times the robot's answers. My robot, Tock, answers in a voice generated on my PC, and graphics land on the words. You make your own robot in a guided step, on your own Higgsfield key. Tock cost me $2.76 at launch prices. Tap for sound.
- Finished reel
- 48 s
- To render the Instagram cut, on an RTX laptop GPU
- 59 s
Co-host reels need an NVIDIA card with video encoding (NVENC). They run in Claude Code and aren't tested in Codex.
Made with it
Recording a take is the easy part. Cutting one meant opening an editor and trimming every pause by hand.
This reel came out of Reel Studio.
I recorded one 82-second take talking over my screen. It came out as a 56-second reel with captions and a cover. When I say "plugin", Claude Code's real Plugins docs page comes in from the web. Tap for sound.
- Raw take
- 82 s
- Finished reel
- 56 s
What it does
You record. Your agent does the rest.
Ask for the reel in plain words. It shows you the cuts before it makes them and stills before it renders. Everything marked Free is in both editions, and Pro adds the two marked Pro.
01Three ways to make a reelFree
On camera, over your screen, or with no camera at all.
Talk to the camera, put your face over a screen recording, or skip the camera and have a generated voice read your script. The no-camera option needs an NVIDIA card.
02Edit from your wordsFree
Your agent edits the video the way you would edit a document.
Every word you say gets a timestamp and every pause is measured. Your agent reads that transcript, takes out the filler and false starts, and opens on your payoff unless you ask for something else.
03Invisible CutsFree
Cuts you can't hear, and a check for clipped words before you post.
Cuts land in the pauses between your words, and every join is checked for speech. Then it listens to the finished reel again and tells you about any clipped word before you post.
04Captions and cardsFree
Every word you say appears on screen, and your key points pop up as cards.
Captions follow you word by word, so someone scrolling with the sound off can still follow along. Each card appears the moment you make the point. Both stay clear of the parts of the screen Instagram covers.
In one of my reels: 155 of 155 words captioned.
05Auto-DirectorFree
It zooms and reframes for you, so the picture never sits still.
Each shot is framed around you, and the camera pushes in on whatever you're talking about. You never set a keyframe.
In one of my reels: 40 shots in 85 seconds.
06Web PullFree
Your agent can put the real page on screen while you talk about it.
Quote a doc, a pricing page, a store listing or a post, and your agent finds the page, captures it sharp at full reel width and highlights the phrase as you say it.
The Claude Code docs page in my demo reel came straight off Anthropic's docs site.
07Second opinionPro
A second editor looks over your take before anything is cut.
Jev, an AI model from TypeSafe, flags rambling and repeated lines, suggests which retake to keep and ranks the few seconds that would make the strongest opener. It keeps your call to action and your main point off its list. You and your agent make every call.
From one of my takes: "There's like a bunch of fun stuff going on" scored filler 0.71, repeat 0.79. My agent cut it.
08Co-host reelsPro
A robot co-host talks back beside you.
You record against a black background while a prompter shows your lines and times the robot's replies. You make your robot once, with a guided workflow on your own Higgsfield account, and its voice is generated on your PC. Co-host reels need an NVIDIA card with NVENC and run in Claude Code. They aren't tested in Codex.
My 48-second co-host reel rendered in 59 seconds on an RTX laptop GPU. Your CPU and memory affect the time too.

After you post
Then ask Claude how it did.
Reel Studio makes the reel. The Mica Analyzer reads it on Instagram every hour for its first day, so your AI can tell a stall from a slow start while there is still time to act. Ask in plain words, in Claude Code, Claude or ChatGPT.
The Analyzer is $29 a month after 7 days free with a card on file, and Reel Studio Pro comes with it. Founding seats are limited.

Before you install
What you need
Reel Studio runs on a Windows PC. It doesn't run on a Mac, a phone or ChatGPT in a browser.
- Computer
- A Windows 10 or 11 PC, 64-bit. 8 GB of memory works, 16 GB is better.
- Claude Code or Codex
- Claude Code (a paid Claude plan or an Anthropic API account), or OpenAI's Codex (the CLI, desktop app or IDE extension). Editing a reel uses it like any other session. Co-host reels run in Claude Code, and aren't tested in Codex.
- Disk and internet
- Setup downloads about 3 GB of free tools. Pro's co-host step adds about 0.5 GB for the robot's voice, and more if your PC needs NVIDIA's speech libraries. Keep about 30 GB free for reels in progress.
- Graphics card
- Optional for Free and for Jev. An NVIDIA card with 6 GB unlocks no-camera reels and a cleaner cut-out of you. Pro's co-host reels need an NVIDIA card with video encoding (NVENC), and the way tested to record on pure black is NVIDIA Broadcast in OBS, which wants an RTX card. The only card tested is an RTX 50-series laptop GPU, so there's no minimum to quote.
- Jev key
- Pro only, and optional. Pro's second opinion runs on your own OpenRouter, TypeSafe or Vercel AI Gateway key, at fractions of a cent a question. Vercel's free tier doesn't include Jev, so a Vercel account needs paid credit. Setup asks for the key. Without one, your agent edits on its own. Free needs no key.
- Higgsfield key
- Only for co-host reels, and you can skip it if you don't want them. Your own Higgsfield account generates your robot, at about $2.50 to $4 of Higgsfield credit for one character. Pro doesn't include a robot.
- Renderer
- Editframe renders the reel. It's free for individuals and companies of three or fewer. Bigger companies need an Editframe plan.
- Your time
- 15 to 25 minutes once. Your agent checks your PC, asks before installing anything and renders a sample reel at the end. After that, you drop a take in the inbox folder and ask for the reel.
- Updates and warranty
- If a new version ships, Pro buyers get it free with a fresh download link, and anyone can take the free step again for the newest Free. Updates aren't promised, and both editions come as is, with no warranty.
Questions people ask
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Both make the whole reel: cuts, captions, cards, zooms, the real page on screen and a cover. In Free, your agent decides what to cut and what opens the reel. Pro adds a second opinion on your cuts and your opener, and co-host reels with a robot you make.
Is Free a trial?
No. Free has no time limit, no watermark and no cap on reels, and it makes the whole reel. Pro adds a second opinion on your cuts and your opener, and co-host reels with a robot you make.
Where does Pro's second opinion come from?
Jev, TypeSafe's decision model. Reel Studio asks it typed questions about your lines, like "is this filler" or "is this the key point". Your agent uses the answers to propose cuts and the opener. Jev never writes words.
Will it use up my Claude Code or Codex usage?
Editing uses your agent like any other session. In Pro, the questions about your lines go to Jev on your own key, not to your agent, for fractions of a cent. On one of my reels, 213 questions cost $0.000688.
Can it show the page I'm talking about?
Yes, in both editions. Mention a product or a post and your agent finds its page (docs, pricing, a store listing), captures it sharp at 1080 px and highlights the phrase as you say it.
What is a co-host reel?
A Pro reel where you talk to a robot. You record on a black background, and a prompter shows your lines and times the robot's answers. The robot speaks in a voice generated on your PC, and graphics land on the words.
Is the robot included?
No. A guided workflow makes one on your own Higgsfield key, for about $2.50 to $4 of credit. It needs a blank dark screen for a face, which the engine draws on. Tock, in my reel, is mine and isn't in the download.
Do I need an NVIDIA card for Pro?
Only for co-host reels, which need a card with video encoding (NVENC). As in Free, no-camera reels need one too. Jev and the rest of the edit run on any Windows PC. Co-host reels run in Claude Code and aren't tested in Codex.
How do I get Pro with the Mica Analyzer?
Start the Analyzer's 7-day trial with a card on file. Reel Studio Pro is included, and the download is on your Analyzer page from the first day. The Analyzer is $29 a month and reads your Instagram for Claude Code, Claude or ChatGPT. Founding seats are limited.
I started on Free. How do I get Pro?
Buy Pro on this page, or start the Mica Analyzer, which includes it. Install the Pro download the same way you installed Free, and your setup, reels and settings stay. Setup asks for your Jev key and, for co-host reels, a Higgsfield key. Both are optional.
Will it cut something I want to keep?
It shows you what it plans to cut before it cuts, and still frames before it renders, and you can tell it to change either. In Pro, lines with your call to action, and the main point you give it, stay off Jev's cut list.
Is Pro really one payment?
Yes, on its own: $29 once, no subscription. If a new version ships, Pro buyers get it free with a fresh download link. Updates aren't promised, and Reel Studio comes as is, with no warranty.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, for Pro bought here. Email guru@graniteai.co within 30 days and we refund the whole amount. No reason needed. Free costs nothing, so there's nothing to refund.
Does it work on a Mac or a phone?
No. It runs on a Windows 10 or 11 PC with Claude Code or Codex, and not in ChatGPT in a browser. On your phone now? Enter your email and open the link on your PC.
Does it post to Instagram for me?
No. It hands you one 1080x1920 file and a cover image, and you upload them yourself.
Does anything else cost money?
Your agent's own plan (Claude Code or Codex). In Pro, Jev and your co-host robot run on your own keys. Editframe, the renderer, is free for individuals and companies of three or fewer; bigger ones need a plan.
What's the email for?
The download link, so you can open it on your PC. Updates only if you ask. For Pro, Stripe gets it. We don't sell it or share it for advertising.
